Map Bureau was active from 2001 to 2006, but is now dissolved.
The company was an early provider of mapping technology for the web. Our pointMapper widget allowed people
to do their own mapping via a Javascript API years before
the advent of Google Maps, or the Yahoo and Microsoft API-enabled mapping platforms.
The Map Bureau site will continue to live, and you can continue download pointMapper.

MOUTH of the COLUMBIA (130KB)
Due to difficult geography and weather, hundreds of shipwrecks have
occurred at or near the mouth of the Columbia River. This map depicts
some of those shipwrecks overlaid on a map which illustrates changes in
topography over time. This map was produced in cooperation with the Columbia River Maritime Museum.
